A top football expert has predicted that both Gift Orban and Victor Boniface will soon be on their way to a big league from Belgium on the strength of their goals and performances.
Both Nigerian strikers have shone in Belgium and in European competitions lately.
Football analyst Gert Verheyen said their Belgian clubs should soon be cashing in on these two top talented forwards.
Verheyen told Sporza : “He (Boniface) is phenomenally good. What he showed is really top at that level.
“He always turns well, with or without people in the back and can be played across the entire width of the field. He does everything well, combines power and technique.”
“You can only stop him wrong, it’s great, not normal. In Europe he plays even better than in the Jupiler Pro League. If everyone sees that, it won’t be long before he’s gone.”
He continued: “I don’t think they have often played against something like this at Union Berlin, it was really not normal. Absolutely a great achievement. Union just completely outplayed the Germans. 3-0, bye and thank you.”
The expert also commented on the emergence of Gift Orban, who has already spoken about playing in either the Premier League or the Bundesliga.
“He has a right to that confidence, with his performance. People often talk about an adjustment period, but if you’re good you don’t need that, apparently,” he said.
In the meantime, influential Spanish newspaper Sport has hailed Orban
“He is the striker with the highest average goals per game in Belgium. And his European figures are also frightening with a goal every 58 minutes,” it highlight his statistics.
The newspaper speculates that he will bring Gent a lot of money.
“They paid about three million Euros (to sign him). A joke with what he can bring in the not-so-distant future.”
