Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has joined Major Soccer League (MLS) club FC Cincinnati from Portuguese club Boavista.
Awaziem, 27, has signed a year’s contract with option for an additional year, FC Cincinnati have announced.
His transfer fee was a bargain at 500,000 Euros.
He said he is delighted to reunite with former Flying Eagles midfielder Obinna Nwobodo at the MLS club after both grew up in Enugu.
“(Obi’s) always been asking me to come (to FCC) & I told him ‘yeah, someday we’re going be together’ and here we are,” he revealed.
He has won 34 international caps with the Super Eagles.
