Former Flying Eagles striker Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi has promised to score goals for Belgian club OH Leuven after his transfer from US Salernitana, who played in the Italian Serie A last season.
Ikwuemesi has signed a three-year contract after Leuven paid 1.8 Million Euros to Salernitana and has been handed jersey No 19.
He said he now wants to repay his new club with goals.
“OH Leuven are the right club for me. I’m going to give everything for this shirt, because I felt welcome here right away,” he vowed.
“The people within the club give me a lot of confidence, so I want to repay them with victories and goals.”
Club CEO Frédéric Van den Steen has backed the new signing to score goals.
“Ikwuemesi is a young player with enormous potential and room for growth. His profile gives us many possibilities in the attack line,” he said
“We are very happy with his arrival, but the most important thing is that the player was very hungry to come to OH Leuven . Because players who are eager, usually perform better.
“We are confident that with the support of our fantastic audience, he will soon score!”
