Belgian club Antwerp will get a record 20 Million Euros for the transfer of 17-year-old striker George Ilenikhena, whose parents are Nigerian.
Ilenikhena transfer to French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco is expected to be officially announced later today after he has passed a routine medical.
It’s a record outgoing transfer for Antwerp as it has put to shade the 18 Million Euros they received for Belgium international midfielder Arthur Vermeeren from Atletico Madrid in January.
Antwerp need the cash to re-organise after a disappointing last season when they lost the Belgian league and cup double.
Ilenikhena joined Antwerp a year ago from another French club Amiens for Six Million Euros.
He scored 14 goals in 50 matches for Antwerp this past season.
