The agent of David Okereke has backed the striker to show he is top-class in the new season with Belgian champions Club Brugge.
Okereke, 22, scored 11 goals in all competitions in his first season in Belgium, but a lot more was expected of him after Club Brugge splashed a record eight million Euros to sign him from Serie B club Spezia.
“David only wants to establish himself at Club Brugge and he has more than enough quality to do so,” said his agent Patrick Bastianelli.
“Last year, he started the season like a rocket with four league goals in three games. And he has not forgotten that yet.”
The agent said Okereke stayed back in Belgium during the Coronavirus break to be prepared to show he wants to do more in the new season, which kicks off next month.
“He didn’t want to take the risk of being stuck in Africa and missing the first training days at Club Brugge. It outlines his willingness, but also his professionalism,” he praised.
