Former Nigeria youth international Emmanuel Ogude has told SCORENigeria he is looking forward to a better deal soon.
The Vendsyssel FF of Denmark forward said his role model is Cristiano Ronaldo for his professionalism attitude.
He talked about other things concerning his career on this interview.
SCORENIGERIA: How did your football career start?
OGUDE: I started professionally in Israel with Maccabi Petah Tikva in 2013 at age 19 but before then I played for different local clubs in Lagos and then at age 13, I got selected to the best academy in Nigeria at that time, the Kwara Football Academy with Clemens Westerhof as the director.
What position do you play?
I play as a centre-forward now, but I started as a winger . I can play in four different positions, but my preferred one is centre-forward.
Who are the players you can call your role models?
I used to love a couple of them when I was a kid, the likes of Diego Maradona, Pele, Zidane, Ronaldo da Lima, but now I will say Cristiano Ronaldo is my role model. The reason is the talent he has and of course the hunger to be the best at all times.
Did your parents support your career choice?
My dad died when I was just a kid, so I didn’t get to know much about him except what I was told by my mum and siblings. But my mum was very supportive from the start, because my dad played football and the same with my two older brothers. She never stopped me from playing, while I was growing up and even when I got scholarship to play and study in the best academy in Nigeria at that time she didn’t stop me from chasing my dream even though it meant I was going to go far away from her.
List the clubs you have played for?
In Isreal, I played for Maccabi Petah Tikva, Ashkelon and Maccabi Kiryat Gat. Then I moved to Denmark where I played for B93 boldklub and now playing for Vendsyssel FF.
Which league do you wish to be play in?
I love Spanish and English football.
Do you still dream you will get a chance to play for the Super Eagles?
Yes if I’m given the chance…I have already represented Nigeria in U17 level in 2010.
Is there any deal ahead of next season?
There are interests, nothing decided yet, but my agent is working on it and with God on our side, the best will come for us.
Who are your dream clubs?
My dream clubs are Real Madrid and Chelsea.
What can you say about the Israeli and Danish leagues?
They are both different leagues with different mentality. So I can’t really say which is the better one.
Thank you Emmanuel.
You are welcome.
