Victor Boniface (Bodo/Glimt, Norway) and David Okereke (Club Brugge, Belgium) are back firing again in a weekend when the likes of Jordan Kadiri, Leke James and ‘Simy’ Nwankwo underlined their class in front of goal across Europe.
5.Victor Boniface
The big Flying Eagles striker came off the bench to power home a header as Bodo/Glimt moved to the top of the standings in Norway with a 6-1 thumping of struggling Aalesund. It is his first goal of the new season. His club maintain a perfect record – seven wins in as many matches.
4.David Okereke
The former Spezia of Italy star is back in the business of scoring goals after he struck twice for Club Brugge in a pre-season friendly against KV Mechelen as the Belgian champions cruised to a 6-0 win. He has now got his “lucky” jersey No 21 and he believes there will many more goals to come from where those two came from. His eight million Euros transfer last year is what has heightened expectations after he finished as the team’s top scorer with nine goals in the league last season.
3.Leke James
Leke James continued to prove his class in Norway with his third goal in the league this season and most probably he is on his way to a bigger league now as he has yet to agree a new contract after his deal with Norwegian champions ran out on July 1. You can bet that wherever he ends up, he will again show that he knows his way to goal.
2.Jordan Kadiri
This is another striker who is desperate for a fresh challenge after he netted his second goal of the season in Sweden. The crisis at Ostersunds FK has been cushioned by the goals and drive of Kadiri. Already a bid by the City Group, owners of Manchester City, has been rejected by OFK, according to his agent.
1.‘Simy’ Nwankwo
The powerful target man has continued to show that he and his club Crotone belong in the Italian top flight after he scored his 17th goal of the season in a 3-1 win at Cittadella to move his club closer to a return to Serie A. But there are still five rounds of matches to be played and both player and club now have to maintain such form to ensure promotion back to the top league.
