SCORENigeria can report today that the hopes of Nigeria doing well at next month’s U20 Women’s World Cup are hanging in the balance after only 15 players on the final squad were granted entry visas to Poland.
A confused official told SCORENigeria: “It’s a big, hot mess we’re in now. How can you play a World Cup with only 15 players?”
It was learnt that the NFF and Falconets coach Moses Aduku are running from pillar to post to ensure more players get their visas to fly out for the World Cup.
The NFF are yet to put out an official statement on the situation.
The Falconets are scheduled to open their training camp today in South-west Poland
The U20 World Cup kicks off in Poland on September 5 with Nigeria playing their opening group game against highly-rated Spain two days later.
China and New Caledonia are the other teams in Nigeria’s first round group.
