Samuel Chukwueze has undergone a hip surgery and will be out for at least three months.
This effectively rules him out of a 2027 AFCON double-header against Tanzania last this month.
AC Milan confirmed in an official statement that Chukwueze had surgery in London to repair a ruptured tendon in the left hip.
The statement further said the player will now return to Italy to begin his rehabilitation.
The club did not say how long Chukwueze will be out, but various other sources in Italy suggest he will not be back in action before three months.
Chukwueze was subbed off during a Serie A match against Atalanta on October 18 and initially, a conservative therapy was opted for before surgery was finally required.
