Dutch club Heerenveen have dragged Russian club CSKA Moscow to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) over outstanding money of over three Million Euros for the transfer of Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke more than three years ago.

Ejuke switched from Heerenveen to CSKA Moscow at the end of August 2020.
The Russians would pay around 12 Million Euros for the winger, spread over four installments. Three of those four installments were paid, but after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the last part of the transaction was no longer deposited.
“That’s annoying, it’s a lot of money,” Ferry de Haan, Heerenveen’s general manager, said in a message on the club website. “
The matter is currently with the CAS. We are positive that everything will turn out well, but no one knows exactly how long that will take.”
“There is talk of a number of weeks or months. There is no doubt in our mind that we will once again be vindicated. But there is a difference between being proven right and actually getting your money,” he added.
The Dutch club previously got a favourable ruling on this matter from FIFA.
How does the legal action of a Dutch club against CSKA Moscow over Ejuke’s transfer funds affect the football landscape?
