Giant killers US Cremonese are through to the semifinals of the Coppa Italia at the expense of AS Roma thanks in part to a goal by Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers.
Cremonese, who are yet to win a match in Serie A, continued their fairytale run in the cup competition with a 2-1 win over Roma after they had dumped league leaders Napoli in the previous round.
Dessers put his club in front when he tucked away a penalty in the 28th minute after he was brought down inside the box on his way to goal.
Compatriot David Okereke was also involved in the winning goal on 49 minutes.
This is Cremonese first semifinal since the 1986/1987 season.
They will now have to go past Fiorentina to reach the cup final.
