It has now been revealed a proposed transfer by Antonio Nusa to Premier League club Brentford fell through after the exciting winger failed a medical.
Nusa, whose father is Nigerian, would have been the most expensive transfer out of Belgium as Brentford had agreed to shell out a total of 37 Million Euros for his signature.
However, during the routine medical, a growth lesion around the cartilage of the knee was noticed, leaving Brentford in doubt.
In addition, the English club were also concerned about Nusa’s lower back, an ailment that the Norwegian has been struggling with for months.
Although Club Brugge were certain that this would not prevent the transfer from happening, something which was confirmed by an independent Norwegian doctor, the circumstances were no longer ideal to complete the deal.
What started as a promising transfer quickly degenerated into transfer soap and a public trial over Nusa’s knee.
In the end, the 18-year-old forward decided to pull the plug on the deal.
