Several Super Eagles players have told SCORENigeria they are far from happy with captain Ahmed Musa because he is still not fighting for them to be paid outstanding bonuses and allowances running over three years.
Last month, President Bola Tinubu approved 12 Billion Naira so that all these outstanding payments will be cleared with immediate effect.
However, the Super Eagles have so far only received win bonuses for 2023 AFCON qualifying home games against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe.
“Our captain does not seem to care about our money,” one of the players confided in SCORENigeria
Another unhappy player simply said: “Nobody is saying anything about the monies, not even the senior players in the team led by the captain Ahmed Musa.”
This is the second time the players have been up in arms against the Super Eagles captain for not speaking up for them.
The players first lashed out at Ahmed Musa and the other senior players on the same issue on eve of the recent AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
Then top NFF officials told the team they were expecting payments from previous sponsors Aiteo to clear those outstanding bonuses and allowances.
You have right to say anything about your bonuses money money, but all of you, have you forgot the situation of poorest life in the country about the high cost of production, which way have you used as your contribution for enlighten the president about the inflation situation. Only bonuses you know.
