New signing Efe Lucky is a combination of former stars Innocent Bonke and Ifeanyi Mathew, according to Lillestrom SK sports director Simon Mesfin.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been given a five-year contract by Lillestrom after successful trials.
“Efe Lucky strikes me as a combination of Bonke Innocent and Ifeanyi Mathew,” remarked Mesfin.
“He has done a very good test game together with the other two (Nigerian trialists).
“We feel that we have hit well on these youngsters together with our scouts and agent Atta Aneke.”
Lucky said he hopes to follow in the footsteps of Bonke and Mathew, who have gone on from Lillestrom to move to bigger leagues in Europe.
“I am so happy to be able to sign a contract with such a good team,” he said.
“This is the start of my career and I will be a good player here.”
