Thomas Partey will miss Ghana Black Stars opening group game against Panama tonight after his appeal over a denial of an entry visa to Canada was dismissed.
However, Partey will be able to play in Ghana’s two other group games against England and Croatia.
Partey was denied entry into Canada and refused a visa. His lawyers launched a last-minute appeal to the Federal Court in Ottawa.
The former Arsenal midfielder faces a rape trial in England.
