The 2026 World Cup may well be over for veteran South Africa star Themba Zwane after he was handed a three-match ban for his red card in an opening game against Mexico.
FIFA announced that 36-year-old Zwane was suspended for violent conduct.
The experienced midfielder can only play again at the World Cup from the knockout rounds should Bafana Bafana go past the group stage.
They are currently bottom of Group A after they fell 2-0 to co-hosts Mexico.
