African Footballer of the Year Victor Ikpeba has warned Daniel Amokachi to work in harmony with Super Eagles coach Finidi George.
Amokachi was appointed an assistant to Finidi after he also applied for the same post.
His appointment was influenced by some politicians.
“The boss is Finidi,” Ikpeba stated on SuperSport TV programme Monday Night Football.
“Amokachi should support his former teammate and there has to be trust between them.
“Three years ago, there was chaos among the coaches when (Emmanuel) Amuneke came in to assist (Augustine) Eguavoen before the 2022 World Cup playoffs against Ghana.”
Ikpeba is on the NFF technical committee that recommended Finidi for the top Super Eagles post.
Amokachi was an assistant coach to Stephen Keshi when Nigeria last won the AFCON in 2013.
Hi fellow Nigerians.Am so pleased that finally the NFF has deemed it fit to see reason’s in appointing a Nigerian as the national team coach because all these while the foreign coaches has been handling our team with an undermining factor’s, seeing themselves more superior to us and taking our capabilities to the background. Now that a Nigerian in the person of Finidi George has been made the Boss of our team, he understands that the team is ours and all hands must be on desk for a better national team.
Am so delighted for this transformation of batton from foreign coaches to an indigenous coach, it will definitely pay us good than harm. All we need do now, is to rally round Finidi and give him the necessary support he needs to catapult the national team to a greater height. We have the players needed to dismantle South Africa and other teams in our group with the support of all and sundry to the national team coach.Long live FINIDI GEORGE, GREATER HIEGHTS TO SUPPER EAGLES.
