Hamdi Akujobi has said he hopes to work on his technique as well as improve his tactical awareness at Dutch club SC Heerenveen.
Akujobi, son of former Nigerian player Chika Conleth Akujobi, made his official Heerenveen debut last season and this term, he has enjoyed more game time.
“Tactically I could be better and I am also working on my technique”, Akujobi told Heerenveen TV.
“So, how do I position myself, when do I have to run or not? When do I have to go into a tackle and when do I not?”
“With my mentality and focus I don’t want to miss a tackle. But sometimes I also have to think about whether it is necessary or not. It can also be a problem.”
He also said his focus this season is to play either as defensive midfielder or as a right back.
This season, the 20-year-old Akujobi has made an appearance in the league for Heerenveen, who are sixth on the table with 16 points from eight games.
