Most of the leagues across Europe have come to an end with many Nigerians celebrating successful campaigns with various prizes and awards.
SCORENigeria takes a racy look at those Nigerians who flew the flag so high this past season.
Victor Osimhen
The masked goals’ machine helped Napoli win the coveted Serie A title after more than three decades of waiting. Osimhen was instrumental to this milestone achievement with 26 goals which crowned him as the first-ever African Goal King of the Italian top league. He was also named Best Striker of Serie A

Alhassan Yusuf
He was a league and cup winner with Antwerp in his second season in Belgium to add to his winners’ medal from the Swedish Cup with IFK Goteborg.
Peter Olayinka, Igho Ogbu
Another proven goal scorer helped his Czech Republic club Slavia Praha win the Cup after they lost their league crown to city rivals Sparta. The big striker scored 17 goals in all competitions to sign off his time at this club. Former Flying Eagles defender Ogbu got his first major trophy since his transfer from Norway.
Manuel Akanji
He won a treble of English Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League with Manchester City.
Zaidu Sanusi
The Super Eagles left back was solid in defence for FC Porto to clinch the Portuguese cup at the expense of Sporting Braga. It was the third time he was winning this major honour. He also won the Portuguese League Cup this season.

Chidozie Awaziem
He was outstanding in defence for his Croatian club HNK Hadjuk for them to land the Croatian Cup.
Noah Arinze Okafor
He won the Austrian league with Red Bull Salzburg. He scored a total of 12 goals in all competitions for his club.
Atiemwen Iyayi, Rasheed Akanbi, Ismail Origbaajo
This trio won the Moldovan league with FC Sheriff. They all contributed to their clubs achievements.
Samuel Chukwueze
The exciting winger was named best African player in La Liga. He recorded 13 goals and provided 11 assists for Villarreal CF this past season. It was his most productive season since his arrival in Spain in 2019. It is therefore no surprise he has been linked with several top clubs across Europe lately.

Elijah Adebayo, Fred Onyedinma, Gabriel Osho
After many years in the lower leagues, Luton Town are back in the Premier League along with a trio of players with Nigerian connection – Adebayo, Onyedinma and Osho.
Hamdi Akujobi
The versatile player has won promotion to the Dutch top league with Almere City.
Paul Mukairu
He won the Danish Cup with FC Copenhagen.
Gift Orban
KAA Gent will again feature in the UEFA Europa Conference League after they won the playoffs in Belgium thanks in part to the goals of their sensational Nigerian signing.
Victor Boniface
He was joint top scorer in the UEFA Europa League with six goals for Belgian club Union St.Gilloise.
