While millions of Nigerian fans are praying fervently for Stanley Nwabali to be fit again in time for Friday’s AFCON quarterfinal against dark horses Angola, SCORENigeria can exclusively report that more foreign clubs have joined the scramble for the Chippa United shot stopper.
Nwabali, 27, has impressed at the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire after posting three clean sheets in his last three games with the Super Eagles at the tournament.
The former Lobi Stars goalkeeper has been widely linked to a transfer to Belgium.
However, Nwabali’s agent, Mohammed Lawal, told only SCORENigeria that the latest suitors for the player are from Saudi Arabia and France.
“I won’t name the teams,” the representative told SCORENigeria
“Here in South Africa, there are at least three teams interested, also in Belgium and Saudi Arabia.
“And just recently a French club also inquired about him.”
As first reported by only SCORENigeria, South African PSL club Chippa United have placed a Two Million Euros price tag on the giant goalkeeper.
His contract runs till June 2025.
At 27, Nwabali is at his peak as a goalkeeper and his confidence and imposing physical presence between the posts have made him an exciting prospect on the transfer market.
