New Super Eagles coach Finidi George does not plan to work with Daniel Amokachi or Emmanuel Amuneke and would rather pick his own assistants, various source have informed SCORENigeria
“Finidi will not work with Amokachi or Amuneke,” one of the sources close to the new Eagles coach told SCORENigeria
“He may have played alongside them in the national team, but he does not trust them as they also have their own ambitions.
“Also, he would rather pick an assistant who will add value to what he is doing besides being loyal.”
Another source told SCORENigeria that Finidi will not shift on this position and would prefer to make a personal arrangement to bring in a coach from Europe.
“He will not change his position because he does not wish to work with Daniel (Amokachi) or Amuneke,” said the source, who also played in the Super Eagles.
“He is very clear about how he wants to work and who he wants to work with.”
Amokachi, for one, is being put forward by two Northern politicians who are elected members of the Federal House of Representatives.
The former Super Eagles forward visited the NFF secretariat in Abuja Thursday.
The NFF have previously announced that the new Super Eagles coach will be given the free hand to work with the assistants he picks.
