Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is trending on X after reports that he is owed several months’ salaries and allowances.
This is coming two weeks to the Super Eagles AFCON Group C opening game against Tanzania in Fes.
Most users of X expressed disappointment with the recurring stories of coaches and players owed their entitlements.
Former Mali coach Eric Chelle was appointed Super Eagles coach in January 2025 and guided Nigeria through a failed qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup.
A report also on social media quoted a top official of the National Sports Commission (NSC) as saying that it is the responsibility of the NFF to pay the coach his outstanding allowances and bonuses.
