SCORENigeria has specially gathered that Super Eagles assistant coach Daniel Ogunmodede has been told to stay away from NPFL champions Remo Stars so as to focus on the national team until after the AFCON in Morocco.
Ogunmodede, who led Remo Stars to a historic first-ever NPFL crown last season, has not been involved with the club since they were bundled out of the CAF Champions League by Mamelodi Sundowns.
“He has told not to bother with the team for now and instead he should focus on the Super Eagles until after the AFCON,” a source close to the Ikenne club informed SCORENigeria
“Some have suggested that the Super Eagles post has become a big distraction for ‘Ijaball’.”
Incidentally, this is coming after the club had to issue an official statement dismissing speculations that the coach has been sacked by Remo Stars.
Remo Stars are currently ninth in the NPFL standings with 22 points after 16 rounds of matches.
They are eight points adrift of leaders Nasarawa United
