SCORENigeria understands that Abdullahi Biffo is in a strong position to replace Abdu Maikaba as Flying Eagles coach.
Maikaba led the country’s U20s to finish as runners-up at the WAFU B qualifying series for the 2027 U20 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
A top source informed SCORENigeria that former Kano Pillars and Enyimba coach Maikaba may now lose his position to Biffo.
Close watchers told SCORENigeria that Maikaba lacked man management and so did not enjoy the co-operation of his assistants.
It was further gathered that former Sporting Lagos and Kwara United coach Biffo is known to have powerful backers in and around government.
Next year’s U20 AFCON will be hosted by Ghana and it is now most likely to be expanded to include the Flying Eagles after they lost to Burkina Faso in the final of the qualifying tournament.
