Lesley Ugochukwu, who has been closely monitored by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, has arrived in Istanbul to complete his transfer to Turkish champions Galatasaray.
He was received at the airport by Galatasaray board member Abdullah Kavukcu.
The defensive midfielder is now expected to complete his transfer from English club Burnley with a routine medical and a media presentation.
The clubs have agreed a 30 million euros deal for the 22-year-old Ugochukwu, who said he is thrilled to play for a top club like Galatasaray.
“When I was little, I always dreamed of playing for big teams. Now I’ve come to a big club like Galatasaray. I’m very happy,” he commented.
Ugochukwu, who came through the youth academy of French team Rennes, has played for English clubs Chelsea, Southampton, and Burnley.
Last season, he made 38 appearances for Burnley and scored three goals.
