The Super Eagles will have to brace up to a massive Southern African challenge in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as they will play their second World Cup qualifiers next month against Zimbabwe at another Southern African team Rwanda, who are also in the same qualifying pool.
Zimbabwe will travel to fellow Southern Africans Rwanda for their opening World Cup qualifier and after that stay back to tackle Nigeria.
The Southern African team cannot play in their country after their stadium was not approved for the qualifying tournament.
The Super Eagles will open their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign on November 13 in Uyo against another Southern African team, Lesotho, before they head to Kigali, Rwanda, where they battle the Warriors from Zimbabwe.
South Africa and Benin Republic will complete this qualifying group with the overall winners advancing to the expanded 2026 World Cup to be hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico.
