Coach Jose Peseiro has admitted he was disappointed the Super Eagles did not take their countless chances against Mozambique to win by a far higher margin than 3-2.
The Eagles edged past 10-man Mambas of Mozambique 3-2 in a friendly in Portugal today.
Nigeria led 3-1 by half time and in the second half they soft pedaled allowing Mozambique to pull a goal back even despite their total dominance.
“We deserved much more. We thought it was easy, everything has been done when we were leading 3-1 against 10 men,” Peseiro lamented.
“I didn’t like the second half because we commanded it, but you must put more concentration and the finishing was poor.
“Our team are better than this team and yet we let in two goals.
“We played better than this result because we created 10, 14 chances, many opportunities.
“I liked the match against Saudi Arabia but today, I don’t like. Today, we need to score five, six, seven, eight goals.”
However, he said he will take some comfort that after five years without a win in friendly matches, the team broke that poor run with victory over Mozambique today.
