Defender Semi Ajayi has said he expects the Super Eagles to be at their best when they face AFCON hosts Cote d’Ivoire in a 2023 AFCON Group A epic clash next year.
The Super Eagles come face-to-face with the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire on January 18, 2024, in Abidjan.
“The bigger games bring out our best,” said West Bromwich Albion defender Ajayi.
“So, I am really excited we are drawn against the host nation, there will be more attention on us because of that.”
Nigeria open their 2023 AFCON group campaign on January 14 in Abidjan against Equatorial Guinea, before they face the host country four days later.
Their final group game will be against now familiar foes Guinea Bissau on January 22.
