Patrick Nwadike has said he is delighted to sign for new Swedish club IK Sirius till 2023.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder joined from Ettan league side Landskrone Bois, where he scored three goals in 26 matches.
“It feels great, I am happy to have signed for this club. It will be fun to feature at the highest level in Sweden and I look forward to facing a new challenge,” he told the Sirius website.
“I have followed them quite a lot. I have watched the matches and actually scouted a bit myself. I am very impressed with how they played during the season. Even though it might have been a little worse in terms of points at the end, I think Sirius did a great season in the Allsvenskan.
“I look forward to being part of and contributing to the team’s results in the coming season.”
Sports director Ola Andersson praised Nwadike’s defensive capabilities.
“Patrick is a hungry player who is on the rise in his career,” he remarked.
“He has a good physique and a defensive instinct that we like. With his good will to train, Patrick will fit well into Sirius.”
