Paul Onuachu scored on his Trabzonspor debut, but this came at a cost because he also injured his ankle during the game.
Trabzonspor beat Besiktas 3-0 at home with Onuachu opening the scoring after half an hour.
However, the striker, who is on loan from English club Southampton, was pulled out after two minutes in the second half.
“Paul Onuachu felt pain in his ankle in the first half, but insisted on continuing,” said Trabzonspor coach Teknik Direktorumuz.
“At the beginning of the second half, we saw that the pain had increased and so we took him out.”
The severity of the injury will be ascertained in the coming days.
