It has been an entertaining first half between the Flying Eagles and Kenya in a final U20 AFCON Group B, which stands at 1-1.
The game got off to a shock start as early as the sixth minute, when Emmanuel Chukwu handled the ball inside the box and Kenya captain Wangaya scored from the penalty spot after a VAR recheck showed the offence was inside the goal area.
However, the Flying Eagles drew level soon after when former Golden Eaglets captain Simon Cletus delivered a through ball for Kparobo Arierhi to clip the ball into an empty net with the goalkeeper sprawling on the ground.
Kparobo then had a header on 18 minutes held by the Kenya goalkeeper.
At the other end of the pitch, Nigeria goalkeeper Harcourt was forced to a make a save in the 20th minute as Kenya pushed forward.
In the 25th minute, Enyimba winger Clinton Jephta fired at goal, but it missed the mark not by much.
The speed and energy of the Rising Stars of Kenya exposed the lapses in the Flying Eagles defence, but the East Africans still failed to make hay.
Anthony Kpangu low shot in the closing minutes was held by the Kenya goalkeeper.
In the other final Group B match, Morocco lead Tunisia 1-0 and as such they remain top of the standings with another 45 minutes to be played.
