Fresh call-up to the Super Eagles, Sebastian Osigwe, has tested positive for Coronavirus and has subsequently been quarantined, according to his Swiss club FC Lugano.
Osigwe has thus joined a growing list of Nigeria stars who have tested positive for Covid-19 – Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux), Paul Onuachu (Genk), Peter Olayinka (Slavia Prague) and David Okereke (Club Brugge).
FC Lugano have also requested their league game against Young Boys on Sunday because as many as eight players have now been quarantined as result of the infections at the club.
Osigwe was one of three goalkeepers called up by Gernot Rohr for next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
He has already been capped by Nigeria at U20 level, but has yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles.
