Paul Onuachu may have been overlooked by the Super Eagles for next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone, but he remains the leading scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League after he fired his ninth goal of the season with teammate and compatriot Cyriel Dessers also hitting target.
Onuachu has now equaled his total tally of last season as he looks poised to joining fellow Nigeria strikers Tosin Dosunmu and Joseph Akpala to finish as Goal King in Belgium.
Genk thrashed KAS Eupen 4-0 with Onuachu scoring one from the penalty spot and assisting Dessers on another early in the second half.
Dessers, who made his Super Eagles debut against Tunisia earlier this month but was left out of the AFCON qualifiers versus Sierra Leone, has now scored three goals thus far.
Genk are now fourth on the table with 19 points from 11 matches, a point behind leaders Royal Antwerp.
