Peter Olayinka has shot past Victor Osimhen to emerge as the third best Nigeria star in the UEFA Europa League Player Rankings after two rounds of group matches.
Olayinka has now scored 1872 points after he came off the bench to grab the winner for Slavia Prague to upset Bayer Leverkusen.
He had only recently beaten Covid-19.
Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho maintained top spot with 2690 points, while Samuel Chukwueze, who provided an assist for Villarreal to win 3-1 at Qarabag, remains in second place on 2179 points.
Osimhen’s run in the competition suffered further setbacks after he was sent off at Real Sociedad and a headed goal was chalked off.
His points have shrunk to a disappointing 789 from 937 after the first round of group games.
He will miss his team’s next game at bottom team Rijeka of Croatia on Thursday, November 5.
