Flying Eagles today finished third best at the 2023 U20 AFCON after they thumped Tunisia 4-0 at the Cairo International Stadium.

It was a consolation for the Flying Eagles after they failed to qualify for the Final and that means they fly back home with a fourth bronze medal from this tournament.
Jude Sunday justified his first start of the tournament with a well-taken brace with Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ and Ahmed Abdullahi also hitting target.
‘Beji’ opened scoring for Nigeria after just nine minutes when he slid home a low cross from the right by captain Daniel Bameyi.
It was his second goal of the competition.
However, despite their dominance the Flying Eagles had to wait till a minute after the interval to double their lead through an individual goal by Gent striker Ahmed Abdullahi, who drove into the box before he drilled past the on-rushing goalkeeper.
Jude Sunday then scored his brace.
First, in the 48th minute and then on the stroke of full time.
The pocket-sized battleship was simply too hot for the North Africans to handle and they paid dearly for it.
