The Flying Eagles have made several changes to their starting XI for today’s U20 AFCON third-place match against Tunisia after coach Ladan Bosso handed first starts to striker Ahmed Abdullahi, Jude Sunday and Caleb Ochedikwu.
Gent striker Ahmed Abdullahi has had a tournament to forget in Egypt after he was sent off in an opening Group A game against Senegal and lost a late penalty that would have drawn Nigeria level with Gambia in the semifinal.
He is for the ineffective Francis Ayuba.
Tricky winger Jude Sunday has widely been tipped to take this competition by storm but he has been limited by late second-half substitute appearances.
He has taken the place of Haliru Sarki on the flanks, while Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ is the other winger in Bosso’s preferred 4-3-3 formation.
Bosso topped defensive midfielder Ochedikwu to shine in Egypt, but he will only play his first match today.
He has replaced Mohammed Aminu.
