Austrian second division club FC Wacker Innsbruck have released former CHAN Eagles star Sunday Faleye even though his two-year contract was not yet up.
Wacker have told Faleye he no longer has a future with them even though his contract is not ended till the coming summer and the club have an option to give him an additional year’s deal.
Wacker have already signed another player in Faleye’s position, Anel Hadzic.
The 22-year-old Faleye joined Innsbruck in the 2019/2020 season and scored four goals in 23 appearances in his first season.
This season, he has yet to score in six appearances and his inconsistency even led the club getting him to feature in the lower regional league.
Tricky winger Faleye has been capped by Nigeria at U23 and CHAN levels.
