Genk goalkeeper Tobias Lawal, who has come under heavy attack for some costly blunders, will miss the visit to Antwerp in a Europa League playoffs in Belgium due to injury.
Tobias Lawal has been in the spotlight at KRC Genk in recent weeks and months, albeit for the wrong reasons. He did not look too good on several conceded goals.
Partly as a result, Genk missed out on the Champions’ Play-Off. Lawal also made mistakes on several occasions in the final match of the regular season, the spectacular 5-5 at RAAL La Louvière.
Genk coach Nicky Hayen announced that Lawal has not made the squad due to a minor injury the goalkeeper sustained during the recent international break.
Austria played a friendly against Ghana. They won 5-1, although Lawal did not come off the bench. His injury must therefore have occurred during training.
