Second division Bayelsa United will battle Nasarawa United for the Aiteo Cup on August 8 in Benin City after they shocked Rivers United in the semifinal today.
Bayelsa United stunned Rivers United 1-0 courtesy of Inikurogha Okardi’s second half winner.
Nasarawa United stopped Sunshine Stars 6-5 on penalties after full time scores stood at 2-2.
NPFL leading scorer Silas Nwankwo opened scoring for Nasarawa United in the 32nd minute from the penalty spot.
It was his third goal of the cup competition and he now has 21 goals in all competitions having scored 18 goals in the NPFL.
The winners of the Aiteo Cup will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
