All is not well in the Super Eagles after it was scooped that the players are hugely disappointed they are yet to receive the bonus for finishing third best at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
The Super Eagles have been pushing for this bonus since they beat Egypt on penalties to finish third in Morocco in February.
The amount in question is $17,500.
SCORENigeria further understands that the authorities have received this money, but that even after many promises ny top officials, the players are yet to be paid.
The Super Eagles are now being managed by the NFF secretariat along with the National Sports Commission (NSC) following the resignation of the NFF executive committee.
“Team spirit in the Super Eagles is at an all-time low. The players have lost confidence in the authorities on account of this bonus,” a source informed SCORENigeria
This would possibly explain the withdrawal of several top stars like captain Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika and Bright Osayi-Samuel from the friendly against Russia.
The players pulled out of the match for various reasons.
