Super Eagles match fees for international friendlies are often shrouded in secrecy, but SCORENigeria can specially report that Russia will pay the team $600,000 for their forthcoming match with the three-time African champions.
The Super Eagles will play a second game against Russia on October 6 after both teams first played out a 1-1 draw in June 2025.
SCORENigeria findings showed that for the first friendly, Russia reportedly paid the NFF $1.2 million, which is double what they will now get.
This may be so because the Super Eagles paraded Grade-A players for the first friendly, while for Tuesday’s rematch, coach Eric Chelle has assembled an experimental squad that include several uncapped players he hopes to observe at close quarters ahead of the qualifiers for the U23 AFCON in November.
It would also be recalled that despite the huge match fee the NFF received from the Russians last year, the players were not paid any appearance fee.
