Saudi Arabia-based striker George Ilenikhena, who scored on his Super Eagles debut against Madagascar Friday, will no longer lead the team’s attack in today’s crucial 2027 AFCON qualifier.
This was after he complained that he was still feeling “small pain” in his leg from the Madagascar match.
SCORENigeria first reported that on Saturday he and Jerome Akor trained on their own. on account of knocks they suffered from the match against Madagascar.
Coach Eric Chelle has now admitted that the Al Ittihad striker is a major doubt for today’s clash in Bissau, while two other players are unwell.
