Coach Eric Chelle has maintained that the Super Eagles have to be at their best to beat hosts tomorrow to climb to the top of a 2027 AFCON qualifying group.
Guinea Bissau are top of the standings after a heroic 2-0 win in Tanzania with Nigeria second on the back of a 2-1 home win over Madagascar.
Eric Chelle was clear in pre-match media briefing that the Super Eagles cannot take anything for granted tomorrow.
“We respect them because they are a strong team, I have followed their progress over the years,” he began.
“They also won away in Tanzania Friday and will be confident playing on home ground tomorrow.
“Our objective is to take the three points, and to do that we must approach the game with a strong mentality.
“We have to be at our best to earn victory.”
All 24 invited players trained for over an hour at the match venue, the 24 September Stadium, whose pitch is in a rather poor state.
Nigeria have won three of their four meetings with Guinea Bissau.
Kick-off tomorrow is 4pm local time and 5pm in Nigeria.
