There is already an agreement in place for a new and improved contract for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, but this has yet to be formalised.
SCORENigeria has gathered that the sudden resignation of the NFF board led by Ibrahim Gusau has delayed Eric Chelle getting this new deal.
A senior official told SCORENigeria that the coach himself would have been happier had he signed the new contract, but he is also aware of the current situation affecting the NFF.
It is yet to be known whether the caretaker NFF secretariat can now give the coach a contract that is beyond their own tenure and mandate or it would now be left for the expected Normalisation Committee to do this.
Eric Chelle signed an initial two-year contract that will run out in January 2027.
