Long-term abmirers Arsenal could now sign Victor Osimhen through a player-plus-cash or swap deal.
According to The Telegraph, Osimhen’s name was mentioned during negotiations between Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta and Galatasaray officials.
The Premier League champions could potentially use their existing negotiations with Galatasaray over Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri to gain an advantage and explore a player-plus-cash or swap deal for the striker.
While Arsenal had reportedly placed Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez ahead of Osimhen on their shortlist of transfer targets, Atlético manager Diego Simeone has made it clear that Álvarez will not be leaving.
This could well have encouraged Arsenal to revisit their interest in Osimhen.
Galatasaray have already rejected a record 130 million euros bid by top Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for the 27-year-old striker, who has a contract with the Turkish champions until June 2029.
They insisted he is not for sale.
