A consortium of local coaches featuring the likes of Finidi George, Emmanuel Amuneke and Salisu Yusuf should replace Gernot Rohr to lead the Super Eagles, according to players’ union president Harrison Jalla.
Rohr is currently in talks with the NFF over a contract extension as his current deal will run out in June.
However, Jalla said the 18 million Naira paid Rohr monthly will be enough to pay a consortium of top local coaches to lead Nigeria to glory.
“A consortium of indigenous coaches will do a better job than Gernot Rohr,” he argued.
“Rohr is not ambitious and it is only a coach with no options that will remain on the same job on the same pay for six, eight years.
“The money being paid Rohr would be better invested on a consortium of coaches like Sunday Oliseh, Finidi George, Emmanuel Amuneke and Salisu Yusuf, Nigeria will be better for it.
“That will make better economic sense than on a coach who has not added any value to Nigeria value.
“(Stephen) Keshi qualified us to the second round of the World Cup and you would expect a better paid foreign coach to take us to at least the quarterfinal and this has not been the case.
“We want our own coaches to be developed and the scare resources mainly from the Federal Government invested in them.”
This is laughable. Sunday Oliseh with the attitude. Sunday Oliseh that almost single handedly destroy the Super Eagles during his reign. Oliseh lack respect, character & experience.
Emmanuel Amunike & Finidi George is a yes, but Sunday Oliseh with the attitude. Oliseh almost single handedly destroy the Super Eagles during is reign.
Stop destroying Nigerian Football leave Coach Rohr alone. Well let me believe that this is a joke.
