German newspaper Bild has reported that one-time Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban will not be signed on a permanent basis by Italian club Hellas Verona.
The purchase option for the attacker, who is on loan from Hoffenheim, will likely not be exercised by the Italian club, who are doomed for relegation, the newspaper reported.
Hellas Verona’s top scorer this season with seven goals, the Nigerian striker hasn’t found the net in nearly three months.
However, his public misconduct with a Hellas Verona fan has not helped his case even though he has since apologised.
Orban is under contract with TSG Hoffenheim until 2029.
He joined Hoffenheim in January 2025 for nine million euros from French club Olympique Lyon.
