The difference between the two teams is a 28th minute strike by Paul Onuachu.
Onuachu struck just moments after he was denied at point-blank range by Uganda veteran captain and goalkeeper Denis Onyango when he was set up by Osimhen.
The Trabzonspor striker, who is the leading scorer in the Turkish Super Lig with 11 goals, stretched full-length to prod home a superb pass into the box by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
It was his fourth international goal.
Nigeria dominated this first half and to their credit they showed ambitions to win this encounter even though they are already qualified for the knockout rounds of the tournament.
Moses Simon was lively on the left side of attack, while there has been an interesting duel between two big men – Calvin Bassey in the Nigerian defence and Uche Ikpeazu, whose father is Nigerian, in the attack of the Cranes of Uganda.
Uganda will have to do a lot more especially upfront of they were to get something out of this contest.
In the other Group C match being played at the same time, Tunisia also lead Tanzania by the odd goal.
