Officials have disclosed that proposed Super Eagles friendlies against both Venezuela and Colombia to be staged in the USA next month will now be called off following the qualification of the team to a continental 2026 World Cup Playoffs around the same time.
They said there is a clause in the contract for these friendlies which stipulated that in the event that the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup Playoffs, the matches will be cancelled.
Nigeria were due to tackle Venezuela on November 14 before another friendly against Colombia four days later.
The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the first semifinal of the World Cup Playoffs on November 13 in Morocco with the final of the mini-tournament slated for November 16.
