The Super Eagles could do with a bit more luck in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup, according to experienced defender Kenneth Omeruo.
Nigeria are in grave danger of not playing at next year’s Mundial as they languish in fourth place with four rounds of the qualifiers to be played.
Omeruo said the Super Eagles have not lost hope of a late comeback, while also lamenting that they have been unlucky on the road to the 2026 World Cup.
“The Super Eagles have been unlucky in the World Cup qualifiers,” Omeruo lamented.
“Like in the last game against Zimbabwe, when we lost two points at the last minute
“Nine out of 10 times that goal would not have been scored (against us).”
The Super Eagles will now hope to get their qualifying campaign back on track with wins over Rwanda at home and away to group leaders South Africa in September.
